A must read:

Published in 1993, this brave, original novel is considered to be the finest account ever written of the complexities of a transgendered existence. Woman or man? Thats the question that rages like a storm around Jess Goldberg, clouding her life and her identity. Growing up differently gendered in a blue–collar town in the 1950s, coming out as a butch in the bars and factories of the prefeminist 60s, deciding to pass as a man in order to survive when she is left without work or a community in the early 70s. This powerful, provocative and deeply moving novel sees Jess coming full circle, she learns to accept the complexities of being a transgendered person in a world demanding simple explanations: a he-she emerging whole, weathering the turbulence.

This is such a tricky question, since there are so many things that can influence your libido at any given time. The first thing that I would do is make sure that there are no other confounding variables. Other life stressors, depression, changes at home or work, new responsibilities, partner issues, etc. All of these things can have an influence. I would also note how long you’ve been on Merina, and give yourself a few months on it to let your body adjust to the progestin if you haven’t already. Fluctuation in your natural libido is normal, too. It’s important to know what is normal for you and your body, if only for you own peace of mind. Set up a chart for yourself for a while and note things like when you’re particularly ravenous for sex, when you’re really not into it, and anything else you want. Diet, weight gain, general mood, how often you are having sex, major life stressors. It won’t be particularly useful right away, but looking back month by month you may be able to pick out patterns and find correlations between things in your life and your sex life.

Pleased by the usage of “survivors” here, since many who go to “reparative” therapy for being gay either become depressed or attempt suicide. (Not too surprising since the entire therapy is based off of denying who you are and forcing yourself to become something different.)

Exfoliating is a great way to help prevent and get rid of back and butt acne (bacne) – ! To exfoliate your skin, get a scrub and rub the scrub onto your skin while you’re in the shower. I really like St. Ives Apricot Scrub. You can also use your regular soap with a loofa (some have handles which can make access easier) – a washcloth – or shower gloves. Some people make their own scrubs at home by using mixes of salts or sugars, honey, vaseline… though if you’re unfamiliar with scrubs it might be easier to pick up a scrub your first time to get a hang of it.

It’s also important to remember to wear clean, breathable clothing, and to change sheets often. All of these things will contribute to cleaner skin, and less blemishes!

Lastly, check to make sure that you aren’t allergic to any products you use. It’s also important to use products made for sensitive skin if you have sensitive skin, which you might. Check your soaps and shampoos to make sure none of these products are at major fault for clogging your poor pores.

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ve ever done a research paper on pornography itself, so I don’t have anything off the top of my head. I also haven’t read any books specifically on porn, although there are some out there. I did read Jenna Jamesons book, but that’s not necessarily a peer reviewed resource. Ahem. I would suggest hitting up the usual spots. If you have time to check out books from the library still, search on amazon for books about pornography. Check out google scholar, as well.

I would recommend using sources primarily from the past couple of years as the viewpoint of pornography changes pretty frequently. The studies that are coming out now might also be more… interesting, than studies that came out in a time where internet pornography wasn’t as prevalent. Those are some things I could keep in mind as you look.

I honestly don’t know anything about astrology aside from horoscopes. My opinion about horoscopes falls somewhere around “Hey, that’s cool, it would probably relate to absolutely anyone who read it.” It is something I would definitely like to read more about to learn about what it actually is and what the beliefs are. Keep away from the stereotypical chocolate sauce/whip cream on the genitalia if you want to avoid yeast infections. Instead, keep a plate of food near the side of the bed for snacks during breaks or as pre-sex appetizers. Champagne? Strawberries? Tortilla chips? Sex can be a workout, no one is going to blame you for wanting a snack to keep going. Chocolate can also be a great companion food to tongue kissing. If you want to really implement it, try placing food around your body (sushi? pieces of fruit? chocolate squares? a whole bag of cheese itz?) for your partner to eat off before they can devour you.

how do you feel about obama endorsing same sex marriage?

It feels like he got cornered and had to confess (finally confess) how he really felt about the issue. About time, I guess? Like a lot of people, I can’t perceive any reasonable reasons why equal rights aren’t already afforded to same-sex couples. I’m curious how it will progress as a dominating theme in his campaign, and have mixed feelings about that if it does. I don’t think the issue should be a highlighted political point. Not because I don’t think it’s important, but because I’m so frustrated about the entire thing. The fact that it’s 2012 and our presidents are using whether or not equal rights should be afforded as a debate question is asinine.
