Appearing yesterday on Fox News Sunday, Osteen told host Chris Wallace, “I believe the Scripture says that being gay is a sin. But, you know, every time I say that, Chris … people say, well, you are a gay hater and you’re a gay basher. I’m not. I don’t — I don’t dislike anybody. Gays are some of the nicest, kindest, most loving people in the world. But my faith is based on what I believe the Scripture says, and that’s the way I read the Scripture.”

What do you think? Does believing homosexuality is wrong mean that you are a “gay basher?” I only left two options in the poll, I suppose only reply if you have strong feelings either way. There is a whole lot of room in the middle to debate what exactly it means, and that can be done in the comments!
There are a number of things I don’t agree with, but I don’t hate the people who participate in those activities. I’m not a fan of peanut butter and wouldn’t dream of eating it, but don’t treat those who eat it differently. Maybe that’s a bad analogy, but that’s what I think about.
I agree with what CC said (except I love peanut butter). You can not agree with what someone does but that doesn’t mean you have to hate or bash them.
TheOthers has it right. You can dislike something, disapprove of something, disagree with something but that doesn’t necessarily equate to hate. It’s a subtle, but important, difference.
Just look at politics!
I think there’s a difference between disliking something someone likes and disliking/hating who they are, and being gay isn’t just a thing someone likes it’s a part of their identity. So, yeah, I do think it means they hate gay people and not just homosexuality.
Does believing that Blacks are unintelligent make you racist? Of course it does; expousing bigoted beliefs rather than bigoted acts does nothing to wash away the bigotry.
