Valentine’s Day Pt 3

I am not the girl that can be pleased by a box of chocolates and a dozen red roses. I am not the girl you buy diamonds for at full price from Tiffany’s. I am not the girl you wait in line for at Victoria’s Secret. I will never advocate buying lingerie for YOURSELF as a gift for your partner.

However, I do think it can be fun to dress up a bit on Valentine’s Day. Remember that the clothes don’t stay on for very long though so it’s not necessary to pay a whole shit-ton of money on pantyhose and garter belts.

I received a gift in the mail from VS for being an angel card member so I thought I would go redeem it today. It was for a free pair of their lacie underwear (one size fits all?) and $10 off a bra. Originally I wasn’t going to pick up a bra because I have too many to fit in my draw, currently… but the bra that matches the underwear I got was only $8 so I threw it on my angels card.

Both I got in barbie pink, only because I don’t have anything in that color right now and wanted to stray from black/white/red a bit which is what I normally get. I am looking forward to wearing these together because I do get a sort of giddiness from wearing matching underwear and bra sets. It’s like no one knows that I am coordinating from head to toe- but maybe someone will by the end of the day.

If you are inclined to do the lingerie business for Valentine’s Day don’t make it a big deal. Pick up something special for yourself (or your partner- there were lots of men in Vicky’s today!) but don’t break your wallet on it. Make sure it is something that you will wear again and again- unlike some of the strange holiday specific goodies they sell just to rob you blind.

Did you pick up any special underwear for the weekend? Do you plan on wearing something special? Or do you prefer the greatest gift of all, nudity?

    Nudity?

Nah; not at first. There has to be some lingerie. You get the nudity afterward, anyway ; )

A question for other guys who have no fear of entering Vicky’s: Do you notice some of the clerks will treat you a bit differently if you shop without her along than if your girlfriend’s with you? I usually get a neutral, but I’ve had reactions from amazed that I’d know specifically what she’d want to that I must be some perv to be in there without her. That last usually *not* near Valentines Day, though. The only time I’ve gotten a bit uneasy – well, since I was 19 – is if I know she’s in the mall or I think she may be and possibly pass by and see me getting stuff for her.

And a suggestion based on the post – since they’re so bright, wait for a sunny day (hah!) and mix and match the colors, but keeping matching style. It makes my gf feel a bit brighter, especially following dreary weather.

Re Frank: One of the guys I saw in there was getting serious attention/guidance from one of the women in the store. He was picking out an entire outfit and making sure it all matched. When I go in with my boyfriend usually they don’t confront him and assume he’s with me and I’ll be the one needing any assistance. Which… might not necessarily be true. From what I’ve seen men get more reaction when they’re alone but it’s not bad.

I am fully satisfied with the trip with my wife to VS. The local one has large dressing rooms and I get my own private show. Great fun. (PS We’re all hoping for pictures you know!!)

I’ve been really wanting to try those lacy bras. I some of the underwear already and I love them. They don’t look very functional, but they look really comfortable and sexy and I’ve been debating spending the money. Do you like them; do you think they’re worth a try?
