sex in a pool or hot tub

22F

can you give me a list of the pros and cons of having sex in a swimming pool and/or hot tub.

PROS

Mood enhancement:
In my opinion one of the greatest pros for having sex in water (whether that be pool, tub, or shower) is that you and your partner are both wet, slippery, and totally naked. This greatly enhances the mood, allowing potential for greater arousal. Plus, it’s always fun to get out of the bed once and again and try it somewhere new.

Position exploration:
Because you and your partner will be more lightweight in the water, it’s possible to try some positions that are impossible (or more difficult) on the bed.

CONS

Extra Strength:
Being in the pool, you’ll need to have a lot more energy and strength than having sex on a bed. You will likely need to be in the very shallow area of the pool (which is not quite as exciting) or you’ll need to be near the edge of the pool holding onto the edge. If not, you will exert almost all of your energy simply trying to stay afloat. This is not really a problem in a hot tub.

No natural lubrication:
When having sex in the water, you can be guaranteed that all your natural lubrication will be washed away. This can lead to painful sex and sores on either you or your partner from rubbing raw. If you’re planning on having sex in water, it’s a good idea to find a silicone lubricant such as wet platinum to keep on hand.

Condoms:
Another thing to keep in mind is that condoms will not be as protective when you are submerged in water. There are more factors playing against you. If you do lose that lubrication and don’t add more, the added friction could rip a hole in the condom. If it’s not on him tight, it could float off more easily. Especially if water were to get into the condom itself. You need to pay extra attention to your protection.

Irritation:
Many people experience irritation after having sex in a pool or hot tub that contains chemicals (which will likely be any pool you find to have sex in)… The water is likely to get into your vagina or anus in some way or another which could lead to problems.

Drowning/Exhaustion/Cramps:
Like I said in the first con, you’ll need more strength and most people tend to stay at the side of the pool. Worries when having sex in a pool (not quite as much a hot tub, as it’s much smaller) is drowning or getting too tired or cramped to swim out of the water. Be wary.

Don’t let me scare you out of it, of course, because I do know several people who have done it and have enjoyed it. Just remember be cautious, as always.
